"Heathers The Musical is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized ass...but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.
Heathers The Musical is a hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new show based on the greatest teen comedy of all time. With its moving love story, laugh-out-loud comedy, and unflinching look at the joys and anguish of high school, Heathers will be Penn’s most popular musical. Are you in, or are you out?
Heathers is a dark comedy which deals frankly and sometimes comically with subjects such as sexuality, sexual assault, homophobia, fatphobia, mental health, murder, gun use, bomb use, alcohol and drug use, explicit language, and suicide. There will be depictions of stage violence, sexual acts, and the use of non-firing prop guns with gunshot sounds. Additionally, there will be the use of flashing lights. For further information, please reach out to samiaele@sas.upenn.edu.

Inspired by Efrén Olivares (C'05) and his talk on "Zero Tolerance: Journeys Through Family Separation and US Immigration Policy" at Penn in September 2023, Areli Martinez Pizano started a bi-weekly series titled "Immigration Series" to continue the conversation about undocumented immigrants in the United States. The topic for the series changes each week, highlighting things like implicit bias, cultural loss, mixed-family status, and dual identity. These conversations are open to everyone who is interested in immigrant rights, undocumented immigrants, and what does it mean to be an "American" in this country.

A conversation with Dennis Culhane and Jennifer Egan
What kinds of stories do we tell — do we need to tell — about homelessness in the US in 2024? How can investigative journalism and social-scientific research combine forces to capture the present situation and future dimensions of homelessness? What role do the lives, experiences, and idea of unhoused populations play in the public understanding and policy implications of this social problem? Please join us for an open panel discussion of these questions and more, featuring Dennis Culhane (Dana and Andrew Stone Professor of Social Policy at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice) and Jennifer Egan (award-winning novelist and journalist; Artist in Residence at the Penn English Department). Lunch will be served.
As the world economy transitions to net-zero emissions, the economics of climate change offers important insights into key policy choices: How should we ensure this transition is efficient? How do we distribute its costs within society? How do we incentivize technological progress in climate adaptation and mitigation? What are the challenges for the transition created by geo-strategic fragmentation?
Our panelists will explore these significant questions, from a range of perspectives, drawing together their academic expertise and their own faith perspectives, particularly in light of the recent apostolic exhortation, Laudate Deum.
Join Collegium Institute’s Magi Project for this evening conversation with Prof. Allison Covey (Ethics, Villanova University), Prof. Christina Parajon Skinner (Legal Studies and Business Ethics, University of Pennsylvania), and Prof. Jesús Fernández-Villaverde (Economics, University of Pennsylvania).
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will be giving out awards to extraordinary students from the 2023 calendar year.

Cross-EthnoRacial Solidarity In Action: Isang Bagsak as Framework
Friday, April 12, 2024 | 6:00-7:30 p.m. | ARCH 108
RSVP: bit.ly/TonySpeaksatPenn
This presentation uses liberatory education, intersectionality, and sociology theories to conceptualize and translate the Filipino concept of Isang Bagsak into a cross-ethnoracial solidarity framework. Isang Bagsak was a rallying cry from the anti-martial law movement, but has been translated into many different movement spaces in the US since the 1990s. Tony will apply this framework to leadership both in and outside of higher education, and how this framework is relevant in a global society in desperate need of bridge-building with a decolonial lens.
Book Signing and Reception to follow. Limited books available for FREE to Penn Students on first-come, first-served basis.
Bio: Tony DelaRosa (he/siya) is a son to Cavite and Pampangan immigrants. He is a dad to two Filipino-Cuban kiddos. He is an anti-oppression educator, spoken word poet, cross-racial coalition builder, and a researcher. Tony received his Masters from Harvard University in Arts Education and Nonprofit Management and is currently finishing up his PhD in ethnic studies policy-to-practice research at UW-Madison.
