Emily Sachs Dance Benefit
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to celebrate the Emily Sachs Day of Dance, the 27th annual event in memory of Emily Rachel Sachs! Emily Sachs was a Penn student who passed away from asthma complications in 1995. While at Penn, she was a member of Arts House Dance Company and a vibrant member of the dance community.
All proceeds will benefit the Community Asthma Prevention Program Plus (CAPP+) at CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia). CAPP+ aims to reduce the impact of unhealthy housing on pediatric asthma outcomes in West Philadelphia neighborhoods. By combining home repairs with help from community health workers, CAPP+ provides asthma education and environmental remediation. They partner with Rebuilding Together Philadelphia to conduct the home repairs and also use minority- and women-owned business enterprises to do the work, whenever possible. This year the benefit will celebrate Emily through performances by each of the DAC groups alongside a raffle on Saturday January 28, 2023.
