The Explore. Reflect. Become Lunch Series focuses on the deep reflection of our personal experiences and the becoming of ourselves. We will invite individuals from Penn and the Philadelphia community to share their intimate histories and backgrounds and how they've explored, reflected, and become the person that they are.
About the Speaker:
Grace Edwards is a senior in the College studying Health and Societies, with a concentration in Race, Gender, and Health, and a minor in Journalistic writing, on the pre-med track. She is a DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) native, and she grew up in Damascus/Gaithersburg, Maryland, but since attending Penn, she's moved to the suburbs of Philly. She can talk about race and identity for hours, especially over coffee or tea. Even more, if the conversation somehow intersects with health and medicine. She is a Pan-Asian American Community House (PAACH) intern, but you can also find her as a Peer Facilitator for Restorative Practices @ Penn. In her free time, she enjoys going on long walks, baking, and swimming.
We welcome graduate students to attend and explore the space, meet new people, and learn more about our graduate programming.

About the Speaker:
Malik Muhammad (he/him) joins us as a double alum of West Chester University earning a bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Theatre ('14) and a Masters in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs ('16). He recently started a position as the Inaugural Director of Inclusion Initiatives and Social Justice Education at the University of Pennsylvania after serving as the Associate Director of Penn's LGBT Center for 5 and a half years. In his role he serves the campus community by fostering opportunities for education, discussion, and dialogue around identity that looks to mitigate bias and harm. As a sibling to the Cultural Resource Centers along with several other campus partners, he works to cultivate intentional community building that continues Penn's mission of inclusion and belonging, celebrating and uplifting the many vibrant communities that make up campus. Additionally, he wows audiences as a professional actor, singer, and dancer in musical theater throughout the Philadelphia and Tristate area. As an advocate for the power of storytelling in multiple facets, he is elated to partner with PAACH to continue impacting the Penn community with this program.
