2024 New Acquisitions Showcase: Building Collections, New Directions
The Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books, and Manuscripts is excited to welcome you to its annual New Acquisition Showcase, a pop-up exhibit featuring acquisitions made during the past year. From the rare first Basel edition of Sir Thomas More’s Utopia (1518), with a map of the imaginary island and a trompe l’oeil color engraving of worthless French Revolution bank notes, to early maps of Philadelphia and six late-18th-century copper passes for admittance to London theaters, to a photograph album documenting life in New Caledonia and works on women’s health and the Black Panther Party, there’s something for everyone. Drop in to get a firsthand look at some of these fascinating new arrivals and hear about them from the Kislak curatorial staff.
