Night of Empowerment Open Mic
Join the Kelly Writers House and Penn Violence Prevention for a Night of Empowerment! This open mic event is intended to honor and uplift the voices of survivors of all forms of interpersonal violence and harm. Survivors are welcome to share readings and creative performances about their journeys to healing. Supporters and friends are also welcome to share their experiences of offering support and care for those who have been harmed (without sharing the stories of the survivors themselves). **Please note: We ask that you ensure your participation does not include harmful language, descriptions of violence, or identifying details. Please speak only from your own experience as a survivor or supporter of a survivor. Thank you in advance for helping to create an empowering and safe space! This student-led open mic may bring up difficult feelings for many. Penn Violence Prevention staff will be available to speak confidentially throughout the event.
